I have been showing horses competitively for the last 4 years while competing in  All-Around events for the last two.  During 2006 Sterling and I  received our Superiors in Open All-Around, Open Hunter Under Saddle and Amateur Hunter Under Saddle and were 5th in the nation in Open Limited Hunter Under Saddle.  We once again won the Amateur and Open All-Arounds in EQHNC and Reserve in NC along with numerous other awards.  If you asked me two years ago what my goals were I would have said just to learn how to do classes other than Hunter Under Saddle never could I have imagined what I have accomplished in the Amateur and Open Divisions and owes it to her partner and trainer Rickey Moore and show coach Derek Bomberger.

In 2007 Boogie and I were third in the nation in Limited Rider Amateur Hunter Under Saddle.  It is a great accomplishment for us considering he about died when he was three and it was his first full year showing.  We have already qualified for the 2008 AQHA World in Sr. Hunter Under Saddle and Amateur Hunter Under Saddle in just a few shows.

Ashlyn and I live on the farm and enjoy being right with our animals everyday.  I have gone back to school at night and am working toward a degree in Medical Decoding.  I also serve the North Carolina Youth Quarter Horse Association as Co-Advisor.

Rickey, Ashlyn and I also own three broodmares, a yearling and weanling out of Hot N Blazing along with two three year olds.  Our hope is to soon be riding what we raise.

I feel blessed to be able to compete and be around the group of individuals we have at Valley Hill Farm.  We all never lose sight of how lucky we all are to be able to enjoy the American Quarter Horse.  I am biased but I have the best trainers in Rickey and Derek, a wonderful little girl, and a great group of clients who always keep me hopping.
