Lilly's Bio:
I grew up in Gibsonville,
NC and started riding hunter-jumpers at the age of eight at Springwood
Farm in Burlington. I showed the pony hunter classes at most of the
local shows when I was smaller and graduated up to A-rated hunter shows
in my teens while working with Marilyn Adams, who served as the USEF Dressage
Director and assisted the 2004 US Olympic Dressage Team. At the University
of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I rode on the equestrian team under Ginny
Rollins and showed on the IHSA circuit from 2002 to 2004. I had only
ridden in a western saddle once or twice in my life before we bought Tex
in 2002 and decided to pursue AQHA shows. I had no idea what a “spur
stop” was, so it was an exciting challenge to learn about pleasure horses.
Coming to Rickey’s barn was one of our best decisions and has been such
a great learning experience. With Rickey’s guidance and hard work,
Tex and I were the 2004 NCQHA High Point Novice Amateur, eighth in the
nation for the 2004 Justin Amateur Rookie of the Year, and placed fifth
in the Novice Amateur Equitation and were finalists in the Novice Amateur
Western Pleasure at the 2004 Congress.
While I have always loved
riding and showing, I also enjoy reading, traveling, and working on our
farm in Gibsonville. After graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2004,
I have been in the real estate industry and currently work with my partner,
Hilary Hill, as The H Team at Keller Williams. I became engaged in
August 2006 to my best friend who have I known since my freshman year at
UNC, Chris Williamson, and I am busy planning our wedding for this October.
