Chris Williamson

Resides:  Gibsonville, NC

Chris's Bio: I was born and raised in Chapel Hill, NC and have always had an appreciation for all things farm-related.  Some of my best memories are of summers spent on our family farm riding four wheelers, fishing in our farm pond, pulling corn, and hatching way too many baby chickens.  All of my interests revolve around farms and the outdoors: riding, fishing, shooting, gardening, heritage poultry, guineas, and beekeeping just to name a few. In addition to our mini-farm in Chapel Hill, my family has a 200 acre historical farm in southern Virginia named Chestnut Hill that I hope to one day turn back into a working farm of some sort.

After high school, I attended The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill majoring in psychology with a minor in German language and literature.  It was at UNC that I met the most amazing and talented person ever--my fiancée, Lilly Henderson.  After meeting our freshman year, we became fast friends, dated, and became engaged in August 2006.  We are currently planning our wedding for October 2007.

I currently work for Grubb Properties, Inc, a Charlotte-based Real Estate Management/Development company at a large residential property in Chapel Hill.

Up until Lilly and I became engaged, I had very little riding experience; limited to the occasional trail ride and a semester-long riding course I took through UNC my Junior year.  I first rode Lilly's horse, Zippos Texas Two Step aka Tex in the fall of 2006 and immediately became hooked.  My first show was the 2007 Martinganza in Williamston, NC where I was thrilled to take 1st place under both judges out of 36 in my open walk/jog class!  I'm very fortunate to have such a talented horse to learn to ride on and to have such an outstanding and supportive 'barn family' at Valley Hill Farm to show with.
