About me:
I live with my husband, Glenn and daughter, Farley in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Our Jack Russell in a golden retriever body, Rowdy completes our family unit. Seriously, a field trial bred golden retriever does like to go, go, go and he especially enjoys romping with Buster and Sassy at the barn!

I grew up in Emporia, Virginia and met Glenn while working as a summer bank teller. I attended University of Virginia and was lucky to find a major that I truly love, accounting. My time at the McIntire School of Commerce was truly defining and gave me a sense of my abilities and resolve. I added a Masters degree in Accounting with an emphasis in Taxation. Glenn and I were married 18 days after I graduated. We moved to Richmond where I started at Ernst and Young.

In 1989 we moved to the Outer Banks under the guidance of a local developer for Glenn’s company to work on two new subdivisions. I was hired as the controller for several of their family entities. By 1992, Glenn’s company had grown and I was burning the candle at both ends. I officially became Glenn’s full time partner in 1993 and we have worked together ever since.

Farley came along in 1998. I never fully comprehended the love a parent feels for a child before and she has us all sewn up. Kids give you a great opportunity to act like a kid again and that’s exactly what I did when Farley started riding lessons in 2003. Farley has been riding two months longer than me and I constantly learn from her “of course you’re going to do it, Mom” attitude.

I feel very blessed to be in the care of Rickey and Lynn. I am a true novice and find riding to be a crazy and addicting hobby. It pushes me outside of my comfort zone and is amazingly rewarding as I learn. It also gives me balance in my life. I plan to show this year and set my goals accordingly. Life’s better when you work hard and play hard!
